Compress a PDF
Brother Press squeezes your PDF files without touching the text: the photos slim down, the words stay.
or drop them here
No file leaves your device, from import to download.
How to do it
- Drop your PDF in the area above, or choose it on your device.
- Choose the compression level: start with “Recommended”.
- Click “Compress the PDF”, then “Download the PDF”.
Compressing a PDF helps to send it by email when it is over the size limit, or to upload it to a site that caps the weight of files.
Brother Press does everything on your device: your documents never leave your computer or your phone, from import to download.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF sent to a server?
No. The compression runs in your browser, on your device. No file is uploaded or stored.
Which level should I choose?
“Recommended” balances file size and image quality. “Extreme” compresses more, with greater loss of detail. “Low” prioritizes image quality. All three levels can lose detail: check the result, especially for scanned text.
Does the text stay selectable?
Text that is already selectable stays selectable at every level: fonts and vector drawings are preserved. Text in a photo or scan remains an image and may become less sharp after compression.
Why did my PDF hardly shrink?
A PDF with no photo, or with photos already compressed, has little to lose. Then Holy PDF gives you the file back as it was.
Can I compress several PDFs at once?
Yes. Drop them together: each one is compressed on its own, then you get them in a ZIP file on a computer, or through the share sheet on a phone.
Is it free?
Yes, with no sign-up and no watermark.
