Add a watermark to a PDF

Brother Stamp lays a watermark across your pages, like a stamp.

or drop them here

No file leaves your device, from import to download.

How to, frequent questions

How to do it

  1. Drop one or more PDFs in the area above, or choose them on your device.
  2. Type the text, then set its color, opacity, angle, size and pages.
  3. Click “Add the watermark”, then download the copy.

A watermark marks a document as confidential, draft or meant for one recipient: a statement sent for an application, a draft contract, a quote.

Brother Stamp does everything on your device: your documents never leave your computer or your phone.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF sent to a server?

No. The watermark is added in your browser, on your device. No file is sent or stored.

Does the watermark hide the text of my pages?

It is transparent: at 30 % opacity, the text stays readable underneath. Raise the opacity for a bolder watermark.

Is the watermark real text?

Yes. It is written in the page content, not as an annotation: a PDF reader does not offer it as something to delete in one click, and search finds it.

Which characters can I type?

Latin letters, accents included. Emojis and non-Latin alphabets are not supported by the watermark's font: Holy PDF tells you before adding it.

Can I watermark only some pages?

Yes. Choose “A range of pages”, then the first and the last page.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up, and Holy PDF adds no watermark of its own.
