Frequently asked questions

Why pixelize a PDF?

To share a document that can be read and printed, but whose text does not copy easily: each page becomes a picture.

Is my PDF sent to a server?

No. The pages are converted in your browser, on your device. No file is sent or stored.

Does search in the PDF still work?

No: the pages hold no text anymore, only pictures. Keep the original if you need to search it.

Will the file be heavier?

Often, for a PDF made mostly of text. The normal resolution (150 ppi) keeps the file light; the high one (300 ppi) prints sharper.

Is it real protection?

No. A picture can still be read by text recognition software. Pixelizing makes copying harder, without preventing it.
