Add bookmarks to a PDF
Brother Ribbon lays a ribbon on every chapter of your PDF: the reader shows the outline in its sidebar, and each part is one click away.
or drop it here
No file leaves your device, from import to download.
How to do it
- Drop your PDF in the area above: its bookmarks show, indented by level.
- Show a page, give it a title, then click “Add a bookmark to page”.
- Rename, arrange or remove the bookmarks, then click “Save the bookmarks”.
Adding bookmarks to a PDF gives the reader a clickable outline: each chapter is one click away, without scrolling through the whole document.
Brother Ribbon does everything on your device: your documents never leave your computer or your phone.
Frequently asked questions
What is a bookmark for?
A bookmark leads to a page in one click. PDF readers show the bookmarks in their sidebar, like a table of contents: useful for a report, a course or a book.
How do I put a bookmark under another?
The right arrow puts a bookmark under the one above, the left arrow moves it up one level. A new bookmark places itself after those of its page and of the pages before.
Are the bookmarks my PDF already has kept?
Yes, with their title, their page and the spot they lead to. A bookmark that opens a web address or leads to no page is not kept, and the screen says how many.
Is my PDF sent to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser, on your device. No file is sent or stored.
What about a protected or signed PDF?
A protected PDF opens with its password, and the copy keeps that password. A signed PDF is refused: new bookmarks would make its signature invalid.
